WHY CHOOSE PONTE DI LEGNO TRAILS?

Passionate about sports and the mountains, I am an Environmental Hiking Guide, a Federal Mountain Bike Instructor, and an Architect.

I returned to Ponte di Legno after several years abroad and decided to bring a dream to life, which is now called Pontedilegnotrails.

My mission is to accompany you on a journey to discover the most beautiful trails and walks in the Upper Camonica Valley, and beyond! Constantly evolving, like the nature around us, I am always seeking the most authentic experiences in wild and unspoiled nature!

WHO I AM

I’m Matteo Aielli, born in 1978, originally from Ponte di Legno, in the heart of the Italian Alps. After years of experience abroad, I decided to return to the land where I grew up and founded Pontedilegnotrails to accompany nature lovers in discovering the most remote and wild corners of the Alps and Apennines.

Another great passion of mine is wood. There’s nothing better for unleashing your creativity and giving shape to your ideas. Personalize your home and furnishings with my creations: cutting boards, trays, accessories, and much more.

For many years, I’ve also been a maker of ice instruments for the Paradice Arena at Passo Paradiso, at about 2,500 meters above sea level. I build violins, violas, xylophones, and percussion instruments with a unique expertise and passion for this type of work.

WHERE I AM

My town of Ponte di Legno, in the far north of the province of Brescia and bordering Trentino-Alto Adige and the province of Sondrio, is located in the glittering heart of the Italian Alps and is the base camp for my activities.

In the presence of Italy’s largest glaciers and the high peaks of Adamello-Presanella and Ortles Cevedale, a multitude of trails and routes unfold, ideal for trekking and for road bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes.
