My name is Matteo Aielli and I live in Ponte di Legno, in the upper Valcamonica, where the wild nature of the mountains surrounds this magical town nestled between the Stelvio National Park and the Adamello-Brenta National Park.
Architect, I lived in Finland for a long time, from where I was able to visit both Swedish Lapland and Northern Norway.
Another place that deeply resonates with me is the Island of Elba, which I have frequented since childhood and where I can organize excursions based on a variety of requests.
Connection with nature has always been very important to my life choices, and upon returning home, having already obtained the qualification of MTB Instructor from the Italian Cycling Federation, I decided to complete my training by becoming an Environmental Hiking Guide.
The “M” and “A” that make up the Pontedilegno Trails logo faithfully mirror the iconic mountain of Ponte di Legno, Castellaccio, with its famous Canale del Dito in the middle.
The choice to use the symbolic shape to represent my initials aims to strengthen the connection and identity with my hometown and the area where I work.
MY EXPERIENCES AT YOUR SERVICE
Tackling the same route on foot rather than by bike requires a completely different approach, not only from a recreational and sporting perspective, but also from a naturalistic one. While walking prioritizes the landscape and the discovery of local traditions, cycling allows you to cover longer distances in search of ever-new, adventurous itineraries.
MY PROPOSALS
My hiking tours, primarily focused on my homeland, also encompass areas where I’ve been able to unleash my exploratory spirit, making them a key part of my repertoire as an Environmental Hiking Guide.
In addition to the pristine panoramas and evocative natural views, you’ll encounter native flora and fauna, discover the scents and key properties of the flowers and plants of these lands, and discover the stories and legends passed down from generation to generation among the local population.
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor sports such as snowboarding, downhill skiing, and ski mountaineering, as well as sport climbing, triathlons, kiteboarding, and mountain running. I’m also a member of the local chapter of the Pezzo-Pontedilegno Italian Alpine Club.
Group Activities and Orienteering
Want to develop your learning project for your class with the help of a local expert? Among my options, you’ll find orienteering, nature observation, and botanical activities for a day of outdoor learning.
Mountain Bike
Let’s explore the most beautiful trails on two wheels through the most picturesque valleys of the upper Valle Camonica, and beyond. Pedal with me to discover its history and traditions.
Fat Bike
The magic of winter… on the saddle! I’ll take you on a fat bike ride to discover the enchanting winter landscape of our mountains.
Trails Summer and Winter
365 days a year, discovering the most beautiful trails, roads, and mule tracks in our region. On foot or with snowshoes, I’ll accompany you, sharing stories of history, nature, and tradition.
ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE?
If you enjoy adventure and want to experience new cultures while immersed in nature, I’d be happy to guide you on your next trip.
NOT JUST TRAILS AND MTB, BUT ALSO WOOD AND ICE!
THE WARMTH OF WOOD
I’m Matteo Aielli, a lifelong passionate woodworker. The soul, warmth, and inimitable scent of wood. Artisanal quality, customization, and flexibility to bring your project to life.
Each piece comes to life in my hands with care, creativity, and attention to detail. I create cutting boards, ladles, cutlery, frames, and much more: each project is unique, designed to meet your needs and desires. I collaborate with hospitality businesses, such as restaurants, agritourisms, and hotels, to provide high-quality, customized, and bespoke items—perfect for enhancing the environment and enhancing the guest experience.
THE ESSENCE OF ICE
Ice instruments: music sculpted by nature. An art of music, ice, and magic at the Paradice Arena in Passo Paradiso, over 2,500 meters above sea level.
In the enchanting Paradice Arena, I handcraft violins, violas, percussion instruments, and other instruments, using only water, cold, light, and passion.
